Cotton University, formerly known as Cotton College, is the premier educational institution of Assam established in 1901. For Cotton University Admission 2026, the university offers BA, BSc, BCom Honours courses under Four Year Undergraduate Programme FYUGP as per NEP 2020 guidelines. Admission to Cotton University UG courses will be done through two modes: 60% seats through CUET UG 2026 score and 40% seats through Direct Admission based on HS 10+2 marks for Assam domicile students only. Cotton University Eligibility Criteria 2026
1. Educational Qualification for Cotton University Admission
For CUET UG Route: Candidates must have passed HS 10+2 examination from any recognized board with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. Students must appear in CUET UG 2026 and select Cotton University as preference. Subject combination in CUET should match with Honours subject chosen.
For Direct Admission Route: Candidates must have passed HS 10+2 from AHSEC or equivalent board with minimum 60% marks for General category, 55% for OBC/MOBC, and 50% for SC/ST/PWD categories. Students must be domicile of Assam for direct admission. Best of 4 subjects will be considered including English.
2. Age Limit for Cotton University UG Admission
General category students should not be more than 22 years as on 1st August 2026. Relaxation of 3 years for SC/ST/OBC and 5 years for PWD candidates as per government norms.

Step by Step Application Process:
Step 1: Registration
Visit official website cottonuniversity.ac.in and click on "UG Admission 2026-27" link. New users click on "New Registration" and enter CUET Application Number or select Direct Admission option. Fill basic details like Name, Mobile Number, Email ID and create password.
Step 2: Fill Application Form

Cotton University Admission Process 2026
1. CUET UG Route - 60% Seats
Students who appeared in CUET UG 2026 must register at samarth.ac.in portal and select Cotton University. Based on CUET score and preference, merit list will be published. Counselling will be conducted online and seat allotment done as per rank and availability. Selected students must report for document verification.
2. Direct Admission Route - 40% Seats
Assam domicile students who passed HS from AHSEC can apply directly at cottonuniversity.ac.in. Merit list prepared on basis of best 4 subjects marks in HS including English. No entrance test required. Higher marks students get preference in subject allotment.
Cotton University Merit List 2026
Cotton University Merit List 2026 will be published separately for CUET and Direct Admission. First merit list expected on 05 June 2026 for CUET and 10 June 2026 for Direct. Students whose name appears in merit list must complete document verification within given time. Second and Third merit list will be published if seats remain vacant.
