Assam Samarth Admission Portal is a unified digital platform launched by Directorate of Higher Education DHE, Government of Assam for conducting centralized admission to Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in all Government and Provincialized Colleges of Assam. Through assamadmission.samarth.ac.in, students can apply for admission to 450+ colleges affiliated to Gauhati University, Dibrugarh University, Cotton University, Bodoland University, Bhattadev University, and Rabindranath Tagore University. This single-window system eliminates the need to visit multiple colleges and fill separate forms. Admission is based on merit of HS 10+2 marks for UG courses and Graduation marks for PG courses. 40% seats are reserved for CUET UG 2026 candidates and 60% for Direct Admission through HS merit.

Assam Samarth Eligibility Criteria 2026
1. For UG Admission BA BSc BCom
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed HS 10+2 or equivalent examination from AHSEC, CBSE, or any recognized board. Minimum marks required: 45% for General category, 40% for SC/ST/OBC/MOBC category. Students appearing in HS Final Exam 2026 can also apply with provisional admission.
Domicile: Candidate must be permanent resident of Assam for availing state quota seats. PRC or Domicile Certificate mandatory during document verification. Students from other states can apply under 15% All India Quota in selected colleges.
Age Limit: Maximum 22 years as on 1st August 2026 for General category. Relaxation of 3 years for OBC/MOBC and 5 years for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
2. For PG Admission MA MSc MCom
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Bachelor Degree in relevant subject with minimum 50% marks for General and 45% for SC/ST/OBC. Honours students will get preference. Students appearing in final year graduation 2026 can apply provisionally.
Assam Samarth Admission Process
Step 1: Online Registration
Visit official portal assamadmission.samarth.ac.in and click "New Registration 2026-27". Enter Name, Mobile Number, Email ID, Date of Birth. Create password and submit. OTP will be sent to mobile for verification. Note down Application ID and Password for future login.
Step 2: Fill Application Form
Login with credentials and fill complete application form:
- Personal Details: Father Name, Mother Name, Gender, Category, Religion, Nationality, Domicile State
- Academic Details: Class 10th and 12th Board, Year of Passing, Roll Number, Marks Obtained, Percentage
- CUET Details: If appeared in CUET UG 2026, enter Application Number and Score. This is optional for 60% merit seats
- Address: Permanent and Correspondence Address with PIN Code
- Bank Details: Account Number, IFSC Code for fee refund if any
Step 3: College & Course Selection
Select University first - Gauhati University, Dibrugarh University, Cotton University, etc. Then select up to 10 College-Course combinations in order of preference. Choose Honours subject carefully. System will auto-check eligibility based on HS subjects. Lock choices after final verification.

Step 5: Pay Application Fee
Pay application fee online through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI. Fee structure:
- General/OBC: ₹300 for up to 5 college choices, ₹50 extra per additional choice
- SC/ST/PWD/EWS: ₹200 for up to 5 college choices, ₹30 extra per additional choice
- BPL Category: ₹100 flat fee with valid BPL certificate

Assam Samarth Merit List 2026
Merit list will be prepared separately for each college and course based on:
- 60% Seats - HS Merit: Based on percentage of best 5 subjects in HS 10+2 including English. For Honours subjects, marks in that subject will have weightage.
- 40% Seats - CUET UG 2026: Based on normalized score in CUET UG 2026. Students must have qualified CUET and selected college in Samarth portal.
- Reservation Policy: SC-7%, ST(P)-10%, ST(H)-5%, OBC/MOBC-27%, EWS-10%, PWD-3%, Ex-Servicemen-2%
